Sweet Subterfuge novel by Trina Duo novel Chapter 361

"I'll tell you the details next time." Kevan keyed in the passcode of the apartment's door.

Hearing the beeps that signified the door opening, Dylan was shocked. "How do you know the passcode?"

"Ruby's living in my place." Kevan's expression remained unchanged, and his movements were natural. "It's more secluded here, so it's not that easy for Cody's people to get in here."

The picture-taking incident from before, after Kevan looked into it later, was done by people at Cody's behest. Getting Ruby to move over was a way to comfort her, and on the other hand, Kevan also did not want the same thing to happen again—in case his mother caught him and started raging at him again.

"How come I didn't know that you had a place here?" Dylan looked around curiously. Kevan had never brought him here before.

"Before moving to the floor above you, I bought a lot of properties," Kevan said mildly. That was when Microworks had yet to grow and develop, and his work focus remained on Soaring Corporation. That was the time period when the infighting amongst the Rogers was at its highest peak. His father had stepped down from his elevated position then, so the other two families set their sights on him. They used every tactic possible, going as far as to hire hitmen to kill him.

In order to live and protect himself, he bought several properties on different stretches of land. No one knew which home he would go back to every night. After Microworks surpassed Soaring Corporation, he finally had the money and capability to deal with his two uncles. Once they had quieted down, he and Dylan bought a place together and settled down completely.

Tsking, Dylan teased, "Are you bragging right now?"

Kevan eyed him from the corner of his eye and retorted, "Bragging about the fact that I have to change my home of residence every day because my two uncles are trying to kill me?"

Dylan shut his mouth at once.
