Sweet Subterfuge novel by Trina Duo novel Chapter 387

Larissa decided to visit the Rogers, fully aware that she was the one responsible for the trouble that had arisen. She understood that it wouldn't be fair for Kevan's parents to bear the blame for her actions.

Bernard and Maria were in the living room with gloomy expressions. As soon as they spotted Larissa, they lunged toward her in a frenzy. "You vicious bitch! If anything happens to my grandson, I'll make sure you pay with your life!"

Maria, with her long nails, swiftly left three bloody marks on Larissa's face in a split second. Violet couldn't act fast enough and was only able to pull Larissa away after the latter had covered her face. "Calm down! Listen to what Lari has to say."

"What's there to say? Will she admit to what she did? I've never seen such a vicious woman. Nana is her sister! How could she do that to her?" Maria glared at Larissa.

Larissa maintained a resolute gaze and replied, "I did not push Lana. She fell on her own. If you truly wish to debate this matter, I actually pulled her to prevent her from falling off the escalator. Otherwise, she would already be experiencing a miscarriage rather than just an unstable pregnancy."

"You're lying!" Maria shouted at her. Her high-pitched voice made Larissa's ears hurt.

"If I had known that saving your grandson's life would result in me ending up like this, I should have let go of Lana. At least, it would have been worth enduring your beatings and scoldings then. I suppose none of you really care about what the truth is. You only want me to shoulder the blame. If that's the case, I won't waste my time here. Just think whatever you want. I don't care. I just want to remind you that I'm divorced from Kevan, so if you want to find me, don't come here." Larissa smiled, but there wasn't any joy in her eyes.

Everyone in the Rogers household was shocked. They couldn't discern whether it was Larissa's unwavering determination or the revelation of her divorce from Kevan that had taken them aback.

Then, Larissa bowed toward Kevan's parents and said, "I'm sorry for causing you two trouble."

When she rose from her bow, she turned toward Maria, pointed at the wound on her face, and said, "This is my gift to you as your daughter, a way for you to release your anger. If you remain unsatisfied with the outcome, you can get Lana to make a police report. I'm willing to confront her in court."
