The Art Of Revenge (Thalia Nash and Brandon) novel Chapter 129

Thalia’s Pov

Brandon was awake, and he hadn’t aged a day. It appeared as if the capsule had preserved him for me, and thirteen years had passed in the blink of an eye.

I couldn’t help myself, but I’d formed a habit of staring at him and only glancing away when he caught me. I knew he was having fun because he could smile. He still possessed that arrogance cokyness.

Who could blame me when he was so hot? I used to irritate him so much that I would throw myself at him. It was like a dream, and I kept expecting someone to wake me up and pull me out of it, but he was there every time I awoke.

My desperation was evident so he distanced himself but as soon as I backed off and allowed him to heal he warmed up to me. What impressed me was the fact that he and Kendra became instant best friends.

They were inseparable. Even Josh had gotten a little jealous. But no one could tell how or maybe it was just natural for them to bond. Or it had to do with the fact that she spent a lot of time with him when he was in the coma and he was familiar with her voice.

The good news was that his memories began popping up though the first memories were before he got diagnosed.

The period when he was a manwhore. It was irritating because he wanted answers; so he and Nestor began frequenting nightclubs in attempts to rekindle old memories.

I had to swallow it all and allow him to remember everything on his own. But it was dumb irritating, very irritating.

Work kept me busy and sane from going crazy which I noticed he hated. He never wanted to work and was not interested in Mandel, the money, or anything.

The doctors said it was normal, people who were in a coma usually lost or changed in some aspects. I guess Brandon had become lazy and non-materialistic.

The good news was that he was completely cured. Dr. Wilson was my guardian angel. He was also seeing therapists and recovering. He became part of the family.

Eventually, Brandon began remembering glimpses of me. I had no idea what triggered it but he began remembering me. There was no way of telling if he was ever going to remember everything but I capitalized on the few memories and began following him to the nightclubs.

I was not used to such places but I was doing it for him. Waiting for old memories was not going to help me have him so I decided to develop new ones.

The clubbing Brandon was the real Brandon and it was time to get to know him.

My plan worked and he began asking me out to accompany him out from time to time.

It was like our first date and I was falling for him all over. It was beautiful and I cherished every moment I spent with him. I was no longer irritating him, he began enjoying my obsession with him.

Finally, I gave him all the archived recordings of Kendra from the time she was a baby to her thirteenth birthday for him to watch and he loved every moment of it.

It was hundreds of tapes and he had all the time in the world to watch them since he never went to work. The tapes also helped trigger some memories so he used to watch them every morning.

Nestor also had tapes of his own to jog his memories but I never bothered to find out what they were.

After we dated for some weeks he finally began getting flashes of how we met on the bridge but he couldn’t remember everything. It was progress, at least we were making fresh memories and he had begun falling in love with me afresh.

One afternoon, I sat in my office trying to figure out my next move when he walked in surprising me. At first, I thought he just missed me but to my surprise, he knelt on one knee and proposed. I screamed like a madwoman.
