Chapter 111 How Could A Mother Abandon Her Own Child 

Lynn had everything prepared, and once Lysander changed into her surgical attire, she headed straight for the operating room. 

“How’s Priscilla?” 

Lynn handed her a pair of medical gloves, her expression somewhat gloomy. “Not great.” 

Lysander glanced at Priscilla, who was lying on the hospital bed. She was so weakened by pain that even her voice had become faint. 

“Ly… Lysander…” 

Lysander stepped forward, taking her hand. “I’m here. Don’t be afraid.” 

“Lysander,” she asked anxiously, “Am I going to lose my child?” 

Lysander was somewhat conflicted. She let out a sigh, asking, “Priscilla, may I ask you something?” 

Priscilla nodded will all her might. 

“Do you truly desire this child?” 

“Yes,” Priscilla said, “Lysander, please, helpme. Save my child.” 

“There’s something I need to clarify with you, and then you can make your decision, all right?” 

“What… is it?” 

“Your husband, Harry, was my high school classmate. However, during our high school years, he did something quite terrible that ruined another classmate’s life. I have some concerns about him, to be honest. If you decide to keep this baby, your bond with him will only deepen. Even if you want to divorce in the future, you’ll be caught in a dilemma due to the child. You might even endure a less- than-perfect marriage for the sake of the child. But if this child were not in the picture…” 

“Lysander…” Priscilla’s eyes were already brimming with tears. “You’re a woman too. You should understand my feelings. How can a mother bear to give up her own child?” 

Lysander was at a loss for words. 

“But… what if you had to sacrifice your entire life for this child? Being trapped in a hopeless marriage, a sea of endless suffering.” 

Priscilla’s face was pale, her features glistening with moisture. It was hard to tell whether it was sweat or tears. She nodded desperately. “I want my baby. I want my child, Lysander, please…” 

Lynn knew everything. When she saw Priscilla in such unbearable pain, her heart was torn with distress. Her voice was filled with desperation. “What do we do, Dr. Thorne?” 

Lysander gathered her thoughts and said, “Let’s prioritize the baby’s safety first.”

Gradually, Adrian and Daphne arrived, along with some unfamiliar faces she didn’t recognize. They were likely some of the friends and relatives who were in attendance for the wedding banquet today.

Lysander supported him, comforting. “Don’t worry, Dr. Ziegler. Priscilla is okay now.”
