Their posture had already crossed the line of friends.
Lysander asked, “The woman’s family background should be pretty good, right?”
Adrian chuckled. “We have the same thought.”
“Do you know her?”
“I was abroad for many years and recognized the elders in Harborbrook but was clueless about the younger ones. You can take a picture and ask Aiden. That kid definitely knows.”
Lysander said, “I don’t have Aiden’s number.”
Adrian raised an eyebrow. “I thought you’re on Whisper?”
Embarrassed. Lysander asked, “Aiden even tells you that?”
“He didn’t tell me. He values his pride too much, so he wouldn’t tell me such an embarrassing thing.”
“So how do you…”
Adrian explained. “Josiah told me. He asked me to keep Aiden in check and away from you.”
Lysander didn’t speak and just sneered with a mocking smile.
Adrian said, “I haven’t been back for many years, but Aiden was by his side and respected him like a
truly brother. You were married to Josiah for three years, but Aiden didn’t even recognize you. Josiah is something. Everyone said he treasured his wife, and he said he was married, but no one knew what his wife looked like. To put it nicely, it was to protect you but to put it bluntly, he didn’t want you to be known as Mrs. Guerra.”
Lysander listened silent/co
“Perhaps in his heart, I’m not his wife, just a puppet bearing that title.”
Adrian said, “Actually, I shouldn’t be the one telling you these, but that’s how men are. If they accept you, they’ll let you integrate into their circle as soon as possible, you’ll at least meet with his close buddies.”
Lysander thought of Zachary who took her to meet his friends right after confirming their relationship.
Clang!
A sound of shattering glass came from a distance. Then, came a woman’s scream.

I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
