Chapter 255 Do You Really Want To Marry Me
“Getting yourself a rich woman, for example?”
Zachary patted the back of Lysander’s hand. “Stop thinking foolish things. It’s you that I like. I wouldn’t be interested in a rich woman regardless of how much money she has.”
Just then, the sound of a WhatsApp notification pinged.
It was Laura asking Lysander to give her a call after reading the message.
“Is it Mrs. Thorne?” he asked.
“Yeah.”
“She’s probably worried about you.”
When Lysander called her mother, it only rang once before the latter picked up. “Lysander? Are you two on your way back?”
“You two?”
“You and Zach, of course! I heard from Camila that he brought you to his company’s gathering today. It didn’t want to bother you when you youngsters are having fun, but I noticed it’s raining outside and was worried you wouldn’t be able to get back safely if you two stayed out too late.”
“We’re on the way back already. I’ll be home soon,” came Lysander’s reply.
“Oh, that’s good. By the way, Zach didn’t drink, did he?”
Lysander glanced at him. His eyes were clear and bright, and his mind was lucid. There was not the slightest sign that he was drunk.
“No.”
“That’s fine, then. He’s reliable and does everything to a tee. You must learn your lesson well this time. Don’t always be too independent. Men like women who are a bit gentle and clingy. Camila told me he has been quite tired recently. You should pay him more attention. Don’t let him feel as though he’s the only one interested,” Laura advised.
Lysander took a deep breath before replying, “I know what I’m doing, Mom.
“It’s not that I want to nag you. That time when you wanted to marry Josiah, I thought that you were never one to let others worry, so I didn’t say much. But later… Lysander, Zach is a good person. He has never been married before and is young, capable, and good-looking. Most importantly, he cares about you and knows you well. I genuinely think he’s a good match.”

I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
