“Daphne has already returned home. I asstame you don’t have any relatives or friends here either, so who is that? Your roommate? Or a colleague from the hospital?”

Noticing the tension between the two, Miles chimed in. “Josiah, if there’s something you need discuss, it can wait until you get home. It’s quite chilly tonight, and your wife is lightly dressed wouldn’t be good if she catches a cold.”
Josiah gazed at her. “Let’s go. I’ll take you home.”
Lysander shook her head, refusing his offer.
“In that case, how are you going back?”
Lysander: I’ll walk.
“It’s pouring outside,” said Josiah. “Since it’s within walking distance, it means you live close by. As for residential areas around here… Miles, where is the nearest residential area?”
Miles said, “It’s not far from here, but it’s a mansion neighborhood that’s been around for a while.”
Josiah turned around, asking her, “Did you rent a mansion there? Does it belong to the Everhart
family?”

I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
