Lysander was intently listening.

Josiah’s expression was unreadable, betraying no emotion. “Are you afraid that I might have done something to Harry?”
Lysander fell silent for a moment before answering: This matter concerns the Everhart family. Since Harry has done something wrong, the law will punish him.
Josiah immediately understood. “Daphne’s father sought you out, didn’t he? He’s afraid that if anything happens to Harry, the Everhart family will get caught in the crossfire.”
Lysander: Harry took me away from the Everhart residence, so Mr. Everhart’s worries are justified. Moreover, Daphne is also a victim when it comes to Harry
“Lysander,” Josiah uttered earnestly, “you can’t always be thinking about others. Can’t you consider things from your own perspective for once? It was you Harry kidnapped, and it’s you who, till this day, still cannot speak because of him. Don’t you want to seek revenge and make him pay?”
Lysander furrowed her brows and replied: Of course I want to, but I hope it’s through legal means.
Lysander: And who do you think you are to handle this on your own? Some kind of deity? Are you going to manage things even the law can’t handle?

I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
