“Ms. Lysanne.”
Lysanne turned around, a mix of surprise and joy on her face. “Oh, Dr. Thorne, it’s you! You’re in Stounia now?”
Lysander slowly nodded.
Wow, she has some serious acting skills. I wonder which legendary person she learned from to have bestowed her such skills.
“Yeah.” Lysander chuckled lightly, “I came over here to work.”
“That’s great! Congratulations, Dr. Thorne! You’re so talented. I’m certain you have a boundless future
ahead.”
Lysander said indifferently, “Thank you.”
The wife was taken aback. “Darling, you know this doctor?”
Lysanne appeared somewhat embarrassed as she said, “You could say we’re acquainted. When I first returned to the country, I was involved in a car accident, neither too serious nor too minor, and it was this doctor who saved me. Dr. Thorne is highly skilled and very responsible, with an excellent reputation.”
The wife was instantly overjoyed. “It seems fate has brought us together!”
She then turned to her husband, “I don’t care how you do it, but I want Dr. Thome to take care of me. You go and discuss it with the hospital.”
The husband nodded resignedly. “All right, I’ll go talk to them now.”
With that, he turned and left the ward, presumably to seek out the male doctor.
Due to Lysanne’s flattering words, the young wife had become quite friendly toward Lysander. She not only invited her to sit but also offered her some snacks she had brought back from Ecron, which she took out from the cupboard.
Lysander managed to find a few packets of preserved plums and handed them to her. “Dr. Thorne, these aren’t anything fancy, but they’re quite tasty. Would you like to try some?”
Lysander stared at the plums, not accepting them.
Seeing that, Lysanne found an excuse for Lysander’s action. “These pickled foods aren’t exactly healthy. As a doctor, she might be more mindful of that.”
The mother–to–be nodded and said, “Then I’ll ask my parents to send some other stuff from back home later.
“No need, but thanks for the kind offer. If there’s nothing else, I’ll head back to the office now. You guys carry on with your chat.”

I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
