Chapter 53 Not the Only Man on Earth
Lysander was almost dragged by Daphne, who parted the crowd, and rushed to the front row.
When Daphne saw Josiah and Lysanne, she was shocked and turned to look at Lysander, “The interesting spectacle you were talking about were these two?”
Lysander nodded.
Daphne burst into a cold laugh, “Josiah sure is amusing. Didn’t he like this woman for more than twenty years? How come he’s swayed when he meets a woman like you?”
Lysander didn’t say anything.
Because she couldn’t get a word in edgewise.
Lysanne was basically like a machine gun, unilaterally speaking the whole time, scolding the restaurant waiter responsible for checking the reservations.
But fortunately, this waiter was a man and did not cry
It was then people started whispering.
“This is a popular restaurant. Didn’t she know there would be a lot of people before she came? If your don’t want to wait in line, don’t come. It’s ridiculous to come and cut in line.”
“Yeah, on one hand, people say pregnant women are a vulnerable group that should be taken care of, but with her scolding people so fiercely, she doesn’t look like she needs to be taken care of.”
“These kinds of people always start gaslighting others when they have an iota of power. What’s the difference between them and the elderly on the bus forcing young people to give up their seats?”
“She’s worse than the elderly people. At least the elderly are truly old, but she, on the other hand, thinks she’s all that just because she’s pregnant. Everyone has to make way for her. Just then, she even scolded and made a young lady cry.”
Whispers and murmurs filled the air with everyone around discussing the situation.
Lysanne spoke sternly, “I am pregnant. Don’t any of you care for pregnant women? Let me tell you, I am a lawyer. If anything happens to me in your shop, you will be held responsible!”
The waiter had been scolded to the point of indifference, and explained softly, “Madam, look over there at the waiting area. There are chairs, and I even brought out a sofa for you to sit on. Isn’t that enough?”
“Then why don’t you let me go in and eat? Your problem will be solved.”
“Everyone is queuing up. Look over there, there are people with children, and even those carrying. infants, all waiting in line. We can provide some service while you wait, but the restaurant always has a line. If every pregnant woman or parent with a child were to cut in line, nobody would be able to eat.”

A mother next to her with her child advised her, “It’s crowded here. Pregnant women should try not to squeeze into crowds, as it’s more dangerous. And, this restaurant specializes in seafood, which can be toxic. Pregnant women actually shouldn’t eat seafoods like fish, shrimp, and crab.”
She said to Josiah, “You guys must be newlyweds, right? It’s normal not to understand this. Seafood is a big taboo for pregnant women, so you should advise your wife.”

I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
