The Charming Ex-Wife (Lysander and Josiah) novel Chapter 54

Chapter 54 Unable To Move On

Lysanne sneered, full of sarcasm: “Dr. Throne, if you find it hard to move on, just admit it. There’s no shame in being honest. Why bother being so stubborn?”

“Who says I can’t move on?”

Lysander’s tone was not aggressive, as she spoke calmly and methodically.

She wasn’t adept at arguing, but as she had informed Lynn when others mistreated her, she wasn’t one to be pushed around.

This was the first time Lysander had spoken to Lysanne so impolitely.

Even though they had clashed before, Lysander had always maintained her dignity and rarely resorted to direct confrontation.

Lysanne was momentarily stunned but quickly smirked with a look of victory on her face. “It’s been over a month, Dr. Thorne. Didn’t you say you were going to buy a house? Have you bought one?”

“Or is it that you don’t have enough money?” Lysanne chuckled smugly. “It’s no wonder. But Dr. Thorne, you’re still young. Buying a house is no small amount of money. It’s normal for a wage earner like you to not be able to afford it. Since leaving Josiah, you don’t even have a place to live. Where are you staying now? A hotel? The expenses must be quite high. Can your salary cover the cost of living in a hotel?”

Lysander said coldly. “I have friends. Don’t worry, Miss Thorne, I won’t be sleeping on the streets.”

“Oh, you’re staying at a friend’s house.” Lysanne said. “So. you’re relying on the hospitality of others. What, are you here to complain to Josiah and ask for money?”

“Don’t worry. Even if I want to buy a house, I will rely on my own efforts, not on getting rich-quick

schemes.

“Then, why are you here? Trying to relive old memories with Josiah?”

“Enough!” Josiah’s face turned livid, and he interrupted her sharply. “Stop this farce in front of so many people!”

Lysanne retorted, “Did I say something wrong? Does she look like the type to come to this trendy restaurant? She had acted indifferently before, but deep down, she couldn’t bear to give up her life of luxury, right? Josiah, wake up. She’s here for you!”

“You better shut up…”

Just then, a person walked out of the restaurant and waved to the waiter, “Hello”

The waiter immediately ran over, “Hello, sir. How can I help you?”

Chapter 54 Unable To Move Un

“Your friends are…”

“Adrian! Hey!” Daphne’s eyes lit up, waving excitedly, Over here!

Adrian’s lips curled slightly. He pushed up the gold-rimmed glasses on his nose and said to the waiter, “It’s them.”

“Okay, I’ll go get them.”

“Thank you.”

The waiter came over, said a few words to the colleague checking the queue numbers, and then opened the entrance, “Ladies, please follow me inside.”

Daphne nodded repeatedly and pulled Lysander to go in.

Lysanne took a step and blocked the entrance, extending her arm to stop them, questioning the waiter, “Didn’t you just say everyone has to line up? Why can they go in?”

The waiter, who had been scolded by her before, was still polite but not friendly, “Because their friend has already taken a number. They are together.”

“Friend?”

“Yes.”

Meanwhile, Adrian walked over slowly.

He was dressed casually today, but his clite stature couldn’t be hidden, showing that he had some

influence.

He politely smiled and greeted Daphne and Lysander, “Daphne, Lysander.”

“Adrian!” Daphne patted his shoulder like a sibling. “Lickily, you came early.”

Adrian chuckled, “Let’s go, I haven’t ordered yet. You guys came at the perfect time.”

“Great, great.”

Adrian stepped aside, using his arm to welcome them in. After Daphne led Lysander in, he followed. behind, using his arm to shield the two girls, being a gentleman and keeping the flow of people away from them.

“Hey!” Lysanne called out.
