Chapter 142 There’s Plenty of Time in the Future

“You…” Carley was so angry that she couldn’t speak for a while, her finger trembling as she pointed at her. It took her a while to spit out a sentence, “You’re dreaming, even if I die, I won’t give you a chance to enter the Hinton family.”

I wasn’t interested in eavesdropping, but from the few words I overheard, I managed to guess a bit. It seemed that Ashley wanted to join the Hinton family, but Carley disagreed. They were negotiating

here.

However, given Ashley’s temperament, logically, since she hadn’t fully joined the Hinton family yet, shouldn’t she be pretending and coaxing Carley? Why did she confront her directly?

Still had the audacity to say so many words that burned your own bridges?

Could it be that Walter was so good to her that she had the confidence to not care about Carley’s opinion at all?

“What are you looking at?” A voice came from beside my ear.

I turned around and saw it was Alexander, who was smiling faintly and shaking his head. Instead of answering, he asked, “Need to go to the bathroom?”

He shook his head, glanced at the people in the box, and indifferently withdrew his gaze, saying, “I came to find you, afraid you might have fallen into a pit.”

I gave him a blank look, then walked past him towards the seats.

He followed behind me, suddenly asking, “I heard from Auntie Eileen that the incident from five years ago has been investigated, but there wasn’t enough evidence, so the police couldn’t arrest Ashley. I’ve been busy and never asked you in detail, knowing who framed you but being unable to do anything, what were you thinking?”

“I didn’t think much!” I responded to him, tossing the paper towel I was using to wipe my hands into the trash can in the hallway.

He walked ahead of me, turning back to look at me and said, “You didn’t think much about it? You’re not angry? You’re just going to let it go?”

I looked up at him, this man was truly handsome, his features were so delicate without a single flaw, no wonder Olivia was so infatuated with him, “Who told you I wasn’t angry, and was just going to let it go?”

Seeing me speak like this, he said, “Then why is it that, looking at you recently, it seems like nothing has happened at all?”

I stopped in my tracks and looked at him, saying, “Have you ever heard of the saying, ‘A gentleman’s revenge is not too late even after ten years’?”

He paused, raising an eyebrow, “What are you planning to do?”

I stopped talking, moved past him and sat down at the dining table. The dishes were already served, Olivia had heated up the utensils. Seeing us return, he invited us to eat.

The law couldn’t deal with Ashley. At first, I was indeed angry, but after careful thought, I accepted it. However, I never thought that the matter would just end like this.

The scenes I experienced at the border five years ago, and every difficult night over these five years, I kept them all in my heart. If

Ashley doesn’t pay for her actions, that’s not my style.

However, there was plenty of time for everything.

Olivia invited us to dinner, partly to discuss the project with us, and partly, it seemed, to meet with Alexander. I noticed that she seemed to be somewhat infatuated with Alexander.

After finishing my meal, I looked at Olivia and asked, “Didn’t you drive here today?”

She glanced at Alexander beside her, nodded, and said softly, “I can take a taxi back later.”

Hearing her say this, I said, “It’s almost the end of the year, I’m not comfortable with you taking a taxi home alone.” After saying this, I looked at Alexander and said, “Mr. Borseth, could you help me send Olivia home? I have something to do later, I need to go handle it.”

Alexander didn’t say much, he just nodded in response and looked at me, saying, “It’s so late, what’s the matter?”

Uh.

I was indeed stumped by his question.

I hesitated for a moment, then blurted out an excuse about Rachel, “During dinner, Rachel sent me a message, asking me to come over. I’ve been so busy lately, I thought I’d go and see how she’s been doing.”

Alexander grunted in response, fortunately without asking further. He very gentlemanly opened the car door for Olivia.

Watched the two people leave.
