Lost in Mr. Preston's Temptation novel Chapter 66

As the sun set, Clara returned to Preston Village.

She had come by taxi and couldn’t enter the villa area. Because of that, she had gotten off outside the villa area, and then walked to the villa on foot.

She held a bouquet of black roses in her arms. Her brows were slightly lowered, and she looked preoccupied.

“Miss.” Mae was the one who opened the door for Clara.

Mae was stunned when she saw a bouquet of black roses in Clara’s arms. Then she sighed emotionally, “Miss, I have been with you for more than 20 years, and I have never seen anyone give you so many black roses. I heard that black roses’ flowering period is short and that it is difficult to cultivate...”

Clara looked down and found that she had brought the bouquet of black roses.

Suddenly, she felt as if her hands holding the bouquet were burning up, and she couldn’t wait to throw it away, “It’s just a bunch of roses.”

If she had seen that card earlier, she would have never had accepted them.

“I’m not talking about what you have in your hands. I’m talking about the bouquet in the living room.” Mae said as she led Clara into the living room.

After Clara stepped into the living room, she found a huge bouquet of black roses next to the floor-to-ceiling window. The roses were packed together, and she estimated that there were hundreds of them.

Why were there so many black roses?

Compared with the huge bouquet of black roses in front of her, the one in her arms was pitiful.

“Sir.” Ethan had returned.

Ethan handed his suit jacket to a servant and entered the living room to see Clara and the huge black rose bouquet.

“To celebrate your job, I had Donny order the flowers.”

Only then did Clara recover from her shock. “Thank you, Ethan, but you don’t have to buy so many for me to celebrate me getting a job. The flowering period is very short for this rose...”

Also, such a rare black rose, where did he get so many?

“As long as this bouquet of flowers can make you happy, then they have value.” Ethan said in a low voice, and the words made her heart throb.

She had never thought that this indifferent man could say something so touching...

Ethan lowered her head and looked at the bouquet in Clara arms. “These black roses of unknown origin. How much longer are you going to hold on to them?”

Clara could hear the displeasure in Ethan’s tone.

She also understood that Ethan had seen the middle-aged man that had come to deliver flowers to her this afternoon, and because of that had asked Donny to order 1000 flowers for her.

She threw the bouquet of black roses in her hand to Mae. “Mae, take it and throw it away!”

“Oh, okay.” Mae quickly left with the flowers in her arms.

Mae had thought that the black roses Clara had been holding was also a gift from Ethan, but it seemed that was not the case.

After seeing Clara’s actions, Ethan’s brows loosened, and his mood seemed somewhat better.

Seeing that Ethan had taken a seat on the sofa, Clara also came over, and personally poured him a cup of black tea. Then she asked, “Ethan, what do you want to eat for dinner?”

She had said that after getting a job, she would cook a meal for Ethan and the others.

Ethan’s mouth twitched as he held his teacup, “Anything is fine for dinner...”

Just as Clara got up to go to the kitchen, the man added in a light and mocking tone, “As long as you don’t make it. I still want to live a few more years.”

“I’m actually quite talented at cooking,” Clara quietly retorted, “I’ll get better with practice.”

“There are many servants at home, so you don’t need to cook,” Ethan said, “If you really want to thank me, you should adapt to EMC’s working rhythm. In a bit, I will go to Melbourne to talk about a possible cooperation.”

Clara understood that he intended to bring her along. “Okay.”
