Josiah pushed the door open and got out of the car, lighting up a cigarette.
This was the first time Lysander had directly seen him smoking.
He skillfully bit off a piece, held it between his lips, and lit it. The adept way he held the cigarette between his fingers inexplicably filled her with a sense of fear.
Is he still the Josiah I used to know?
As some parts of his body were inconvenient to show, he stood facing inward when he got out of the car. Lysander could clearly see the impatient and stern expression on his face.
She observed the man before her, noting his rogue-like demeanor. He seemed markedly different from the gentle and courteous version she had known for the past three years.
He took out his phone and made a call.
About five minutes later, as the cigarette burned out, he opened the car door and got in.
The smell of alcohol, mixed with the scent of smoke, along with the smell of air freshener in the car. made her feel somewhat suffocated.
Josiah noticed her slight action of covering her mouth and nose. He propped his hand on the back of the driver’s seat, leaned his body forward, and turned on the external circulation system.
Lysander said, “You might as well open the windows. It’s faster.”
Josiah sat back down. “I just want to be alone with you for a while. I don’t want to hear those noisy sounds from outside.
“The task you asked Daphne to find me for has basically worked.”
He took out his phone, gently tapped it a few times, and then handed it to her.

Harry: Are you off work yet? I’m already downstairs.
Harry: I’ve traveled around most of Harborbrook to buy your favorite donuts from that shop. They are freshly baked I’ve been keeping them warm with my body heat. They should still be hot when you get here.
Harry: Babe, are you free this weekend? I have a gathering with some of my good friends. I’ve known them for over a dude Shall we go together?

I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
