“You asked for a favor?” Lysander didn’t quite understand. “I thought they wanted to collaborate with you. Why did you have to ask for a favor?”
“It’s not exactly a favor.” Josiah let out a sigh, leaning back against the seat with some fatigue. “The property rights of the residential area your parents live in don’t belong to individuals. It’s a collective- owned land. And their unit, due to previous bankruptcy, owes a lot of foreign debt. They’re in a hurry. to sell that land to pay off the debt. If I don’t step in to buy it, other developers won’t care if it’s a government-subsidized unit or not, they’ll only give a three-month deadline to move out, and then they’ll just flatten it. By then, your parents will not even have a house for retirement.”
Lysander was somewhat surprised. “So you went to look for Mr. Reyes because…”
“Their architectural design company is a state-owned enterprise. They have connections in terms of approval procedures, so they can expedite the completion of the formalities for housing for low- income families. I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
