Harry heartily slapped Zachary’s chest twice, laughing. “Lysander, are you, st realizing now what kind of guy your ex-boyfriend was? Your best buddy Zachary, the one who grew p with you, sure knows how to hide his light under a bushel! If it weren’t for the fact that he’s not as handsome as me, he probably would have taken the lead,”
Lysander found it hard to describe what she was feeling at the moment.
She was somewhat shocked, but not overly so.
She had long felt that Zachary was a man she couldn’t quite understand.
However, she couldn’t dwell on the details, nor could she dissect his words too much. All she knew before was that Zachary and Harry were close. Thus, she previously thought that the way he treated her was something he had learned from Harry.
However, to her surprise, Zachary was the real mastermind behind the scenes.

Lysander stared at Zachary intensely. “I’ll ask you just once. Did you instigate him to do that to Daphne?”
Zachary remained silent while Harry took a drag from his cigarette, his eyes hazy. With a frivolous smile, Harry said, “Lysander, sometimes I really wonder if you’re as dense as a block of wood. Back in high school, Zachary was clearly trying to win you over, both overtly and covertly, but you never noticed. Yet, when I used his tactics on Daphne, she fell for it instantly.”
Lysander took a deep breath. “So, you two were colluding with each other?”
“Not exactly, but he did give me an idea and lent me a hand, enabling me to secure a spot at A University successfully.”
Zachary’s hands, hanging by his side, subtly tightened.
Lysander saw it, but she felt it was even more ironic. “You went to ensnare Daphne, presumably for i recommendation, but what’s the point of Zachary trying to get on my good side? He’s two grades abo
us.”

I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
