“Perhaps you should just return her call later.” Lysander once again tucked his phone back into his suit pocket
“My mom has been distant since the divorce, devoting herself to prayers. If she’s calling me, it must be something urgent.”

Lysander thought of Susan’s high blood pressure, fearing any delay might worsen the situation. She had no choice but to answer the call. “Hello?”
“Her?” Susan’s tone was filled with disdain. “Forget about it. I don’t want to talk about her. Lysander, are you feeling better now?”
“I’m much better now. Thank you, Madam Susan.”
“Still, it’s necessary, and I want to do it for you” Susan then asked, “Is Josiah with you right now?”

I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
