Chapter 44 You Are Not Allowed to Leave 

Coming out of the bathroom at night, Cordelia bumped into a hug that smelled of alcohol. 

A man’s low voice came from above her head. “Babe, I miss you so much.” 

Cordelia counted the days and guessed that the man might be hungry for sex, so she said, “I’m on my period.” 

Elijah was taken aback, then chuckled, “Little fool.” 

This doting tone made her feel dazed for a while.

Cordelia pushed him away coldly and said, “Go and take a bath!”

Cordelia’s heart was beating wildly. She had indeed revealed too many secrets during this time. 

After a long time, she said coldly, “A woman with a secret is more attractive.’ 

Elijah chuckled, “Okay.” 

He stopped asking, and gradually, his breathing became even. 

He fell asleep.
