Taming The CEO The Escaping Wife novel Chapter 83

Chapter 83

That same night he spent with Shela, he had just been diagnosed with a low sperm count

Logically speaking, the odds of her getting knocked up were pretty slim

But slim doesn’t mean impossible. That’s what he had thrown back at Phedra when she spoke up. And he didn’t expect that it actually happened

“Well, if that’s the case, then let’s take good care of it, Elgin said. “It’s my kid, and I’ll step up.”

“You sticking around?”

*Of course, I’m sticking around.”

Shela beamed, got up, and threw her arms around his neck. That’s awesome, Mr. Ramirez, I was worried… that you wouldn’t want the baby”

Elgin paused, then patted her shoulder gently, “How could I not?”

Thad no clue I was pregnant. I was scared you’d think I kept it under wraps on purpose, just to force you to marry me.” As she said this, Shela glanced at Letitia, then looked away, shrinking back a bit.

Biting her lip, she said. “But you’re married to Letitia now, and this kid’s got no name, no status. What should we do… it’s all because I’m just a lowly nobody”

Elgin didn’t hesitate, “Her? She’s nothing”

Letitia kept her head down, quiet, acting like she wasn’t even there. She was the odd one out.

Elgin had called her over just to humiliate her and show off how well he treated Shela.

Shela coord, “Mr. Ramirez, our child is definitely going to be a cut above the rest, right? Even though I’m not exactly your wife right now, things will get better!”

“Yeah You just focus on taking care of yourself, and leave the rest to me.

Shela nestled into his embrace, Mr Ramirez, you’re the best”

“I’ll take care of everything,” Elgin said “No one’s gonna stand in the way of you and the kid”

That was his promise to Shela. Both Mark and Letitia heard it loud and clear

Letitia thought to herself that Shela sure had it good, envy-worthy

Mark was all smiles, his eyes crinkling into slits. Sure enough having a kid does the trick. A child brings honor to the mother, an age old truth that never changes.

Elgin fetched a doctor, laid down some instructions, and emphasized the need for top-notch care, “Not a single mistake”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Ramirez, Ms. Ward is in the care of our most renowned OB-GYNs.

Elgin just grunted

No matter what, Shela was pregnant, and the kid was his. He had to take on the role of a father.

Even though he didn’t have much feeling for Shela in his heart, but that one night had sealed their fate. It must be destiny.

“Mr. Ramirez, I’d like to have a word with Letitia,” Shela said, swinging his arm, “about the pregnancy. I couldn’t control it, and I hope she doesn’t mind

“She has no right to mind”

“But she’s still Mrs Ramirez

Elgin said coolly, “That spot will be yours sooner or later, I’ve told you before.”

Shela was over the moon, though she kept up her innocent facade

“Sorry, Letitia, Mr. Ramirez and I just got carried away, and that’s how the pregnancy happened. Over the next few months, I just want to focus on nurturing the baby, having a smooth delivery. Please don’t make trouble for me, okay?”

It sounded like. Letitia was some kind of villain.

“Me, make trouble for you? Letitia laughed, “I’d rather you sit tight and stop flaunting yourself in front of me!”
