Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia) novel Chapter 121

Chapter 121 How Much Have You Hidden From Me?

"I won't provoke others if they don't provoke me!" Imogen rolled her eyes and conveyed through lip movement to Cordelia. "Look, he's coming to inquire us so quickly."

Cordelia responded in a normal tone, "Just like Elijah. He always protects other women."

Now, there was silence on the other end of the call.

Imogen pretended to be impatient. "Alright. Let's talk when I get home if you have something to say. I'm hanging up for now."

"Imogen, are you provoking trouble again? You better give me a..."

Ben's words were cut off as Imogen hung up the call. Imogen then angrily stuffed the meat into her mouth.

"Enough. Eat a little less. How will you go on stage if you get too fat?" Cordelia reminded Imogen helplessly.

"Cordelia, I'm upset and feeling wronged." Imogen feigned tears.

"Alright, alright. Don't be upset." Cordelia patted her head. "Ben's temperament is just like Elijah's."

"I think so. Ben's always..." As Imogen spoke, she blushed. "He's always punishing me in that way."

Cordelia immediately understood and joked, "Maybe you should get pregnant too."

Imogen gave a bitter smile. "No one would care about my baby."

Cordelia fell silent. She knew that Imogen and Ben's current relationship was somewhat unconventional, even a bit... shallow.

"Ben is a very selfish man, and he'll do whatever it takes to achieve his goals. Elissa is probably the only person who can make him set aside his principles."

Cordelia patted Imogen's hand. "Alright. Let's not talk about those disappointing people."

By the time they finished eating, it was nearly eight o'clock.

They left the small restaurant, chatting and laughing. On the roadside, there were two luxury cars parked.

Two men stood nearby, smoking and chatting.

"Hey, it seems like they've resolved their differences," Cordelia whispered.

"Of course. Ben can't afford to fall out with your husband," Imogen chuckled. "I think those two are true love."
